Most of our students reserve accommodation together with their language course. Academia Malaga PLUS offers accommodation in student apartments and selected Spanish host families, both located close to the school and the beach.

Our shared student apartments are the most popular accommodation type. There are single and double rooms to choose from, all other rooms like bathroom, kitchen and balcony are shared with fellow students.

It is important to know that the student apartments have to be maintained by the students themselves. 3-6 students share one apartment. The average age is 18-28 years. We offer 3 different types from basic to comfortable apartments.

For those who wish to enjoy the freedom of an own apartment but do not wish to share their bathroom and kitchen with fellow students we offer the option to reserve a whole apartment for your private use. These small independent apartments are called studios.

Living with a host family is a good choice if you wish to participate in the daily Spanish life and if you are interested in learning more about the local culture and food. This is a good option if you wish to practice your Spanish outside the classroom.

Prices on our website include accommodation from Sunday prior to the start of the course until the Saturday following the end of the course. Extra nights can be reserved as needed. In the low and mid season it is also possible to reserve accommodation without participating in a Spanish course, please contact us for details and availabilities.

Apartments

Our student apartments are ideal for those who wish to maintain their independency, each student will receive a key and is free to enter or leave the apartment whenever he/she wants. There are single and double rooms to choose from, all other rooms like bathroom, kitchen and balcony are shared with 2-6 fellow students. If you choose a double room and do not arrive with a friend we will place another student into your room.

The kitchen is fully equipped. Television, washing machine, iron, ironing board and bed sheets are provided. Bed sheets are changed every 2 weeks when our apartments are cleaned by our cleaning staff. It is important to know that in our apartments the students are responsible for dish washing, laundry, cleaning, shopping, cooking and setting up the bathroom with toilet paper, soap and towels.

We offer 3 different shared apartment types: standard, comfort and comfort plus. Our experience shows that younger students prefer our cheaper standard apartments whereas older students reserve primarily comfort plus apartments.

We also offer private apartments which are not shared with other students (Studios).

Studios

This apartment type called studio is not shared with fellow students. It disposes of one bedroom and can be booked with a single or double room. The double room studio has to be reserved together with a 2nd person, which means that Academia Malaga PLUS will NOT automatically place another student into the apartment.

Your partner or friend does not necessarily have to attend a course at our school.

Host families

Living with a host family is a good choice if you wish to participate in Spanish everyday life and are interested in learning more about the local culture and food.

Our selected host families are experienced in lodging foreign students and giving them the opportunity to practice their Spanish outside of the classroom. Families will typically invite students to participate in their weekend activities and introduce them to their entire family. Our school tries to get a good mix of nationalities in the apartments and families in order to prevent students from being tempted to speak their own language.

Accommodation with a host family includes half board (breakfast and lunch or dinner) with a choice between a single or double room. If you choose a double room and do not arrive with a friend we will place another student into your room.

All our families are located close to the beach and the school.

Before choosing family accommodation please also take into consideration that students living in host familiesl have to respect and also adapt to the host families everyday life and habits.

BUS, TRAIN from the AIRPORT
From the airport (as well as from the bus and train station) take the airport bus #19 which passes by the central bus and train station on its way into the city center of Malaga.

Leave the bus in the city center close to the cathedral on the the main street 'Paseo del Parque', from there take bus #11 'El Palo'. Exit bus #11 at stop 'Arroyo Jaboneros' (see map) and walk to our school. Prices for the buses are about 1 Euro each and run approximately every 10-30 minutes between 09:00 and 20:00.

TAXI
Our school is located in Malaga's suburb "Pedregalejo", about 2,5 km east from the city center and about 15 km from the airport.

Taxis from the city center and airport should cost:

from the airport around 20 Euro.
from the city centre around 10 Euro.

We strongly recommend taking a taxi to our school!

CAR
- enter the 'Ronda de Málaga' (direction 'Motril' if you enter from the West, e.g. Torremolinos, Granada or Madrid). - leave the highway at the exit called Nº 246 'Pedregalejo'.
- take the road down direction towards the sea and cross the bridge to the right, then turn left.
- at the traffic lights make a right turn. This street is called 'Avenida Juan Sebastián Elcano' (see map below).
- from here it is the second street on the left-hand side ('Calle Venezuela')
- and after this at the first street take a right ('Calle Eugenio Selles'). In this street you can park your car.

The 'Pasaje Antonio Barceló Madueño' is a pedestrian side street and is right off of 'Calle Eugenio Selles'.

Accommodation is available from the Sunday prior to the start of the course until the Saturday following the end of the course. We will make arrangements to accommodate you in your apartment or host family should you arrive earlier / or depart later. When enrolling online extra nights will be added to your bill automatically.

On the Sunday prior to the start of your course our staff will be waiting for you in the school.On your day of arrival, we would like you to come immediately to the school, there we will provide information for your first course day and then accompany you to your apartment / family. Please inform us about your estimated time of arrival so that we can arrange an alternative should you arrive outside our opening hours.

At the end of your course, the accommodation is available until Saturday at 12:00 following the end of the course date.Taxis to the airport can be ordered at our reception, these drivers cooperate with the school and will pick you up from your apartment or family at any time.
